I had kind of left this blog to die in a far off unseen internet graveyard, but blogger's new layout has shown me that A LOT of people are still visiting this blog. So, expect some new reviews in the next few weeks. I should hopefully be doing some reviews of OPIs Holland collection and some other stuff Ive bought since last Summer. -G

I am a HARDCORE Muppet fan. Its stupid how much I love them, my room is practically a shrine to them... so regardless of what OPI does with this collection... I will own every single color. Expect Muppety goodness around the time the new film comes out, November 2011. Words cant describe, so take a look!
Just like last years Burlesque collection, this set will feature 6 Glitters and 6 non Glitters... It will also debut the highly anticipated Gold Shatter.
We'll start with the non-glitters...
Now for the glitters....

MAC Me Over Preview
Who else is stoked for the upcoming MAC fall collection "MAC me over"?? I am!! Of course, I am uber excited for the lacquers in particular, and the preview images were released yesterday to tease us. So take a peak and get ready for Fall!
"Purple Majesty" is described as a Deep Purple Cream. This could be the Highlight of the collection for me, but its gonna be one I wanna see in person. Sounds perfect for Fall being that it is dark and the lovely cream texture.
"Deep Sea" is described as a Deep Teal Cream. Looks only a pinch darker than "Blue India" so I'm not overly impressed by this one, but in the context of the collection it adds a needed pop of color alongside Purple Majesty.
"Quiet Time" will be a Beige Nude Cream. Looks like it will really flatter nails in the Fall, especially for mannequin hands fans. Dont think it will suit my darker, olive skin, but again, we'll have to see upon release. Its nothing special, but well suited for this collection.
This is the preview image that has me a little confused. This color is "Fatigues" and is described as an Army Green cream. It has the potential to be a real badass Fall color. But this released image doesn't do it's description justice. For that reason I am including another released image that features this bottle much smaller. This will allow you to see what I believe is the more accurate color.
If it really is that deep green color, it would satisfy this collection soo well. This image makes it look olivey and rich and perfect for Fall. And who knows, this could end up being the highlight.
I am really very excited to get a new batch of MAC nail colors. The running theme in this set will be deep dark creamy colors standing alongside a pure creamy beige. The creamy texture has only become a favorite of mine this year, but I've fallen hard for the trend. So I could potentially go nuts for this collection. What do you guys think? Did the preview wet your appetite??
PS check out the other mini bottles in this image, again, this is probably more accurate because the colors look much richer...

Independence Day Mani
Right quick, here was my 4th of July look...
Alpine Snow by OPI (White), Spirit of Truth by MAC (Blue), and Red Red 414A by Wet n Wild Wild Shine (Red).
Alpine Snow is not a perfect white, it pools and is a bit blotchy, so if you have another white I suggest using that instead. Red Red is surprisingly sleek and bright, goes on very smoothly. Spirit of Truth is nice Americana inspired blue, so it was well suited for this mani.
The mani is inspired by this new trend to paint your ring finger nails a different color. I did that with the blue and took it a step further with red pointer fingers. If you are into the different color trend or are just looking for a SUPER fast USA mani, then try this. I surprisingly got a lot of compliments on it and even guys loved it. They got tweeted all day on the 4th lol. Enjoy!

Orly Halley's Comet
I've been wearing Orly's Halley's Comet for a few days now and I honestly should have swatched this for you as soon as I applied it because it is AWESOME! The color is seriously my love affair right now. I plan on wearing this color again soon, so I'll retake the photos when I do, but for now, here's what I got...
So, Halley's Comet is from Orly's Cosmic FX line from Fall '10. The line is unique in that the collection is composed of beautiful multi dimensional glitters. The bottles stand out with black caps as opposed to the traditional grey caps, but are still rubberized which give you an amazing grip on the brush. The brushes in Orly are wonderful, you get a ton of control and great coverage during application. It works well in 2 to 3 coats and I applied Seche Vite top coat to give it a glossy coat on top.
This color is seriously made for my summer right now, it is bright and catches the light all around. I just love it. It's bright blue in the shade, but catches green at some angles. It is, however, a dead on dupe for OPI's Catch Me In Your Net. It's a fave for me and comes highly recommended :)

American Apparel Neon Purple
Here's the last of the American Apparel Neons I got. Neon Purple. It's a rich looking bright purple semi-jelly that dries a little matte.
The formula in this bottle is by far the best of the 3 I tried. It is a tiny bit thick, but goes on smoothly, not gunky in any way. This thickness made it the only one that I would actually consider a one-coat formula... although I did 2. It applies great, and has a matte-ish finish. I topped them with Seche Vite to get the glossy look.
The color is really rich and bright, it's not necessarily "neon" but it is HELLA bright. It isn't really a pure purple either. As with the Neon Red, it is more pink than the name suggests. This purple reminds me of those purple orchid lei's that people wear at graduation.
I don't know if I would wear this color often... maybe this color is better suited for Summer as opposed to Spring. It is reallllllly pretty, and wears like a dream; but I don't think it looks good on me... or with the colors I've been wearing this season. It is probably a knock out on lighter skin. I definitely recommend it though.
